Asheville … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced several “Powering Communities Grants” totaling $55,000 to support community organizations in the Western North Carolina area. The donations will be used to enhance various programs that positively affect the lives of citizens throughout the region.
Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live and work.
“Eaton encourages its employees to invest their time and talent in a variety of local agencies across the region. With their input, the “Powering Communities Grants” are a way for Eaton Corporation to support their efforts,” said Dan Loizzo, Senior Leader of Eaton’s Sales Support Operation in Asheville. “We are very proud of the impact that we have on our community and the willingness of Eaton to support us financially.”
Funding recipients include:
- Habitat for Humanity – $25,000 to sponsor Eaton Corporation’s seventh home in Buncombe County.
- Boys & Girls Club of Buncombe County - $15,000 to support the education, wellness, and summer programs for children between the grades of kindergarten and 12th grade.
- American Cancer Society - $10,000 to support the Relay for Life program in Buncombe County.
- Mountain Housing Opportunities, Inc. - $5,000 to support their Ramp Festival where ramps are built for underprivileged homeowners that can no longer safely navigate the stairs entering into their home.
There are two Eaton electrical facilities located in Arden, NC employing approximately 1,000 people that manufacture or provide sales support for products sold globally.
