Date: November 8, 2012
CLEVELAND … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced the company has been named to the G.I. Jobs Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list for the fifth consecutive year.
The G.I. Jobs Military Friendly Employers® list functions as the primary benchmark of corporate recruiting programs aimed at veterans.
“At Eaton, we value the contributions and are proud of the men and women who have served our country and are now making daily contributions to the continued success of our company,” said Alexander M. Cutler, Eaton chairman and chief executive officer. “Their outstanding leadership skills and ethics have added to our solid foundation for Eaton’s continued growth as a Fortune 200 company.”
The criteria by which Eaton was evaluated included the strength of the company’s military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with previous military service, retention efforts, and company policies toward National Guard and Reserve service.
“Hiring America’s military veterans is a smart business decision,” said Rich McCormack, publisher of G.I. Jobs. “Sure, it’s patriotic to hire military, but that’s not why corporate America does so. Companies on the Top 100 Military Friendly Employers list understand how military knowledge, training and real-world experience positively affect their bottom line.”
Eaton Corporation is a diversified power management company with more than 100 years of experience providing energy-efficient solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power. With 2011 sales of $16.0 billion, Eaton is a global technology leader in electrical components, systems and services for power quality, distribution and control; hydraulics components, systems and services for industrial and mobile equipment; aerospace fuel, hydraulics and pneumatic systems for commercial and military use; and truck and automotive drivetrain and powertrain systems for performance, fuel economy and safety.
