Eaton Supports Jackson-Area Organizations With $90,000 In Grants

Funds will provide food, shelter and education for disadvantaged children, homeless and senior citizens in the Greater Jackson Area.


JACKSON, Miss. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton today announced several “Powering Communities Grants” totaling $90,000 to support local community organizations in the Greater Jackson area. The donations will be used to enhance various programs and organizations that positively affect the lives of citizens throughout the region.
 
Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, the company’s “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live,work, and volunteer.

“Eaton employees are invested in the local community and make a strong effort to give something back," said David Scheff, plant manager for the Eaton facilty. "We are proud to partner with organizations that foster education and improve the quality of life for many children and residents in the Jackson area."

Funding recipients include:

  • Habitat for Humanity Metro Jackson – $35,000 to build a home in the Jackson area.
  • Stewpot Community Services – $25,000 toward structural renovations on the Billy Brumfield Shelter for men serving those in need of food, shelter and clothing.
  • Mississippi Children's Museum  – $15,000 to help underwrite its Mission Possible annual fund to help provide early childhood education programs to the disadvantaged population in the area.
  • Salvation Army - Greater Metro Area – $15,000 for tutoring programs, meals for seniors, health education materials and workshops.


Eaton’s Jackson facility employs approximately 550 people who manufacture hydraulic components and systems for the aerospace industry.
