Eaton’s solution was right on the money. Power Xpert products were integrated into the bank’s existing system by leveraging an Ethernet network with open architecture.  The system allows the bank to monitor and manage a diverse network of IT foundation equipment – from generators and HVAC to chillers and fire detectors. With the Power Xpert Layout Manager, the IT director can create a virtual model of the infrastructure that allows users to click on any devise for updated status. The entire Power Xpert system provided the bank with an effective solution to minimize and prevent IT problems – all scalable for future growth.

Another big pay-off -- the system’s ability to identify and filter personnel roles. With Power Xpert Server Core software, help desk personnel are paged during a non-emergency event like a tripped breaker or power glitch. In the case of more serious problems, the system uses pre-determined parameters to trigger email, pager and web-based messages notifying senior IT personnel. This frees the IT experts to strategize and plan – as they strive to deliver best-in-class service for bank customers.
