Sustainability and Eaton’s Social Commitment

At Eaton, we see robust, healthy communities as a vital component of sustainability. Eaton people care deeply about the communities in which we live and work, investing our time, money and hearts in programs that make a difference in the lives of others.

Local Programs
Eaton’s community involvement activities are designed and delivered locally to make sure it has identified the right needs of individual communities. In each Eaton facility around the world, a team of managers and employees decides which programs their facility will support and they encourage fellow employees to get engaged.

Employee Action
Joseph O. Eaton, the founder of Eaton Corporation, together with other community leaders in Cleveland, established a volunteer-driven system to study human care needs, provide a mechanism for financially supporting the social service agencies and to oversee allocations - what is now known as United Way.

Charitable Contributions
As Eaton has grown, so has our commitment to the communities in which we live and work. This is an important aspect of sustainability and one that Eaton people take personally.
