Metrics 2011
Eaton’s global efforts to reduce emissions from its operations are driven by both worldwide initiatives and individual projects at manufacturing plants and other facilities. Since 2006, we have reduced our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 23.3 percent, indexed to sales, which exceeds our Business Roundtable goal of an 18 percent reduction by 2012. In 2010, we expanded that commitment by pledging to reduce our global energy use by 25 percent, indexed to sales, between 2006 and 2016, as a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Save Energy Now LEADER program

- Reduce GHG emissions by 3 percent, indexed for sales.
- Reduce waste generation by 6 percent, focusing on waste elimination and recycling programs at sites that currently produce the largest amounts of waste to landfill.
- Reduce water consumption by 5 percent, focusing on water-scarce and drought-prone areas of the world
