Sustainability includes as its core a company’s workplace and employee culture. A work environment that is healthy and safe, responsible, and respectful of employees is a sustainable one. We have many programs that strengthen Eaton’s sustainable focus.

Health and Safety

Through the company’s global Environment, Health and Safety function, Eaton has adopted common standards for health and safety and communicates them widely and often. This focus has contributed to Eaton’s achievement of a number of milestones, including reducing work-related injuries by 25 percent globally in 2007. 

Employee Relations

At Eaton, we strive to be recognized as a top employer everywhere we do business. Employees take pride in Eaton’s leadership in business performance as well as values. In addition, the Eaton culture welcomes a diversity of perspectives, respecting the unique differences among employees. To measure our progress in creating a positive, inclusive work environment, Eaton conducts an annual all-employee survey to ensure that every employee – at every level – has a voice. Ninety-six percent of the global workforce participates in the survey, providing confidential feedback to strengthen our company.

Employee Development

Eaton University supports continuous learning by providing access to a wide-array of rich and dynamic learning resources that are available "just in time, just enough, and just for you." These resources include everything from the Eaton University Library, Communities of Practice, self-directed e-Learning programs, live and virtual collaboration events, and a wide-range of instructor-led training programs available through its Learning Management System. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Eaton University also has regional hubs located in China, India, and Mexico to help ensure consistency of our learning strategy and best practices.
