Fifth Generation Superchargers
The fifth generation Eaton supercharger or Gen V is the culmination of over 50 years of improvement to the original design for Roots superchargers. It features two three-lobe rotors, twisted 60 degrees and provides engine manufacturers with a proven, economical solution for adding power. This design has appeared on over 40 models with engine displacements ranging from 1.0 liter four-cylinder to a 5.4 liter V8. The Gen V name suggests the significant patented improvements we've made to the design since its debut on the 1989 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe. Some of the significant changes include the rotor profile, inlet and outlet port design the bearing ports and an abradable powder coating on the rotors for improved performance.
Vehicle Applications
We’re proud of the vehicles that feature our superchargers and how they have played a significant part in helping our customers to create specific driving experiences. From the highly acclaimed, fuel sipping Volkswagen FSI “Twincharger” to the Ford GT 500.
Eaton Gen V Family
Eaton Gen V superchargers are available in a variety of sizes based on the amount of air they process per revolution to coincide with engine displacement.
Eaton Gen V Performance Maps
Eaton supercharger performance is measured by thermal efficiency which takes into consideration Pressure Ratio and Air Flow. The results are then mapped and compared against customer requirements to determine the optimal size unit.
