Power Factor Correction
Capacitor and electronic means of Power Factor Correction provide well-known benefits to electric power systems. These benefits include power factor correction, poor power factor penalty utility bill reductions, voltage support, release of system capacity, and reduced system losses. A high power factor signals maximum use of electrical power, while a low power factor leads to purchasing more power to obtain the same load kW, which you pay for in various ways on your utility bill. Eaton offers a free power factor site evaluation to help safely reduce energy consumption. If you are interested in becoming an Eaton Power Quality Representative, please fill out this form.
LV-Unipump
The Eaton Unipump is a non-fused capacitor based product designed to be used at the motor locations of outdoor irrigation, oil field installations, or other weather restricted areas requiring power factor correction at the motor load.
LV-Unipak
Unipak's are capacitor-based products designed to be used when fixed, static capacitance (wall or floor mounted) is need within parts of your electrical system.
LV-Unipak Filter
Unipak's are capacitor-based products designed to be used when fixed, static capacitance is need within parts of your electrical system. They can be purchased with or without detuning reactors (tuning to the 4.2nd or other tuning points upon request) necessary to protect the capacitor cells in harmonically rich environments.
LV-AutoVAR 300
The AutoVAR 300 is an automatically switched, wall-mounted Power Factor Correction capable device designed for low voltage applications in installations requiring precise maintenance of target power factor in a very small footprint.
LV-AutoVAR 600
The AutoVAR 600 is an automatically switched, free standing Power Factor Correction capable device designed for low voltage applications in installations requiring precise maintenance of target power factor in a very small footprint.
LV-AutoVAR Filter
AutoVAR Filters are an automatically switched, free standing Power Factor Correction capable device designed for low voltage applications in installations requiring precise maintenance of target power factor in a very small footprint for operation (by incorporating de-tuning reactors) in electrical harmonic environments.
LV-Transient-Free Static Switching
The Transient Free, Static Switched product allowes automatically switched power factor correction in a rapidly changing electrical environment. The FTA model can compensate loads within 3-4 seconds; the FTE model can compensate typically within 5-20 msec.
LV-Electronic VAR Injection Unit
The Electronic VAR Injection Unit uses power electronics (not capacitors) to inject VARs into a system to correct power factor. Can be used in areas of electrical harmonics as unit is not impacted by higher frequencies like capacitors are.
MV-UniVAR XV 2.4kV to 4.8 kV
Eaton's Univar MV (5 kV class) are capacitors for medium voltage, heavy-duty applications where a fixed amount of capacitance (kvar) is required.
MV-UniVAR MV 6.6 kV to 13.8 kV
Eaton's Univar MV (15 kV class) are capacitors for medium voltage, heavy-duty applications where a fixed amount of capacitance (kvar) is required.
MV-AutoVAR 2.4kV to 14.4kV
The Autovar medium voltage automatic power factor capacitor systems are designed for power factor correction in applications where plant power factor can be constant or changing, and an engineered solution is required.
