Update your meter/card firmware

To continually provide the most up-to-date functionality for your Eaton meters, we offer updates as a free download.

Eaton offers firmware updates for both your meter modules and installed gateway cards (for the IQ 250/260 and the Power Xpert Meter 2000 series). These are two separate files. You’ll need to know which meter you have and if it contains a gateway card (all Power Xpert Meter 2000 series meters have gateway cards installed).

If you have a meter without a gateway card installed (IQ 130/140/150 or IQ 250/260), you will perform the firmware update via the Eaton Meter Configuration Software. If you have not downloaded the Eaton Meter Configuration Software, you can download it for free here. Remember, if you can access your IQ 250/260 via an IP address, you have a Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card installed.

Eaton Meter Configuration Software
This free download allows you to configure your IQ 130/140/150, IQ250/260, or IQ150S/250S. It is also required to install firmware updates to your IQ 250/260 if you do not have a Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card installed.

Meter Firmware

IQ130/140/150 Meter Firmware Update
This firmware update is specifically for an Eaton IQ 130, 140, or 150 meter. This file is in the .SS format and requires the Eaton Meter Configuration Software for installation.

IQ 250/260 Meter (without Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card) Firmware Update
This firmware update is designed for Eaton’s IQ 250 or 260 installed meters that do not have a Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card installed (you can not access it via an IP address). This update version is available to bring your meter up to the latest firmware and allows installation of a Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card. This file is in the .S format and requires the Eaton Meter Configuration Software for installation.

IQ 250/260 Meter (with Power Xpert Meter gateway card) or Power Xpert Meter 2250/2260/2270 Meter Module Firmware Update
This firmware update is designed for Eaton’s IQ 250 or 260 installed meter modules that have a Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card installed and all the Power Xpert Meter 2000 series devices. This file is in the .img format and uses the gateway card’s Web user interface for installation.

IQ 250/260 Meter and Power Xpert Meter 2000 Series Gateway Card Firmware Update
Firmware update 2.1.2 is available for the Power Xpert Meter 2000 gateway card installed in Eaton’s IQ 250 or 260 meters and the gateway cards installed in all Power Xpert Meter 2000 series devices. It is recommended that the gateway cards have their firmware updated to the latest version available. Please contact the metering tech support group at 1-800-809-2772, option 4,1 or email at pqsupport@eaton.com to obtain the latest firmware.

Power Xpert Meter 4000/6000/8000 Firmware Update
The firmware update is for the display or meter module for a Power Xpert Meter 4000, 6000, or 8000..
