Bag filters are widely used for industrial well water filtration, silt removal, pipe scale removal, and sand and algae removal from sea water. These filters can even be used for removal of dust from water cooling tower installations.
Surface water filtration, an area within industrial water and wastewater treatment filtration applications, is one that has been traditionally dominated by cartridge filtration. Now however, Eaton has developed high efficiency and long life filter bags and filter elements that are a very cost effective alternative to these expensive cartridge filter systems. Bag filters are also used in industrial applications for plant effluent water and for the treatment of secondary water for reuse within the facility.
An Eaton Bag Filter System for industrial water filtration applications has two components, a filter bag that removes the particulate material from the process media and a filter housing that contains the filter bag.
