The fifth generation Eaton supercharger or Gen V is the culmination of over 50 years of improvement to the original design for Roots superchargers. It features two three-lobe rotors, twisted 60 degrees and provides engine manufacturers with a proven, economical solution for adding power. This design has appeared on over 40 models with engine displacements ranging from 1.0 liter four-cylinder to a 5.4 liter V8. The Gen V name suggests the significant patented improvements we’ve made to the design since its debut on the 1989 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe. Some of the significant changes include the rotor profile, inlet and outlet port design the bearing ports and an abradable powder coating on the rotors for improved performance.
