This course provides factory authorized certification of personnel responsible for the service and repair of the Cutler-Hammer SVX9000 drive products from Eaton Corporation. Successful completion of this program allows participants to provide field-based diagnostic and limited repair services for the Cutler-Hammer SVX9000 AF Drive from Eaton Corporation. Participants in this program are required to attend the training course, AF Drives Commissioner Certification Tier 4 prior to enrollment. The Commissioner and Service Provider Certification programs are scheduled sequentially and participants should attend both programs in sequence.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants are certified in the following activities:
- Maintenance of the SVX9000 Drive
- Identification and isolation of fault conditions
- Limited field repair of power and control circuits
Target Audience
General Notes
Products supported in this training include the SVX9000 industrial drives. Limited instruction related to remote control, data display, and connectivity topics is provided.
Participants are encouraged to use their own personal laptop computer when appropriate during the training. Minimum requirements include the Windows 2000 operating system with a functional serial port (or USB - serial converter). Software, cabling, and hardware will be provided as necessary for the completion of activities used in the workshop.
Proper apparel is recommended for activities involving the interaction with electrical and mechanical controls. Footwear with closed toe, closed heel, and flat soles is recommended. Eye and hearing protection will be provided if necessary.
Enrollment confirmation will be sent to each participant prior to the start of training. Do not arrange travel until enrollment confirmation is received.
WHEN MAKING TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS, PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THIS CLASS WILL END AT APPROXIMATELY 12noon ON FRIDAY.
Eaton reserves the right to cancel any workshop session that does not meet the minimum enrollment requirement. Cancellation notification will be sent prior to the start of the training.
Refreshments and a mid-day meal is provided with this training. Any dietary considerations should be indicated on all registration materials.
Other Prerequisites
This workshop requires a high degree of technical ability related to industrial controls. It is not intended for personnel who will not install AF Drives. For personnel responsible for the sales and basic support of AF Drives, the Control Solutions Workshop is recommended.
