FIRE-GUARD™ Branch Feeder Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI)
The FIRE-GUARD™ Branch Feeder Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) is a residential circuit breaker with advanced electronics designed to recognize the unique current and/or voltage signatures associated with parallel arcing faults, and acts to interrupt the circuit to reduce the likelihood of an electrical fire.
Cutler-Hammer’s Branch Feeder Fire-Guard AFCI provides the following:
-
Mitigates low current and high current arcing faults in common installed wiring (Type NMB)
-
Conventional thermal and magnetic overcurrent protection
-
Parallel arcing fault detection and fire mitigation for installed wiring and connected cords

1-Pole Arc Fault
For those 15A and 20A circuits in the loadcenter. Recommended to be applied on all 15A and 20A circuits. This cannot be used on shared neutral applications.
2-Pole Arc Fault
For those 15A and 20A circuits that share a neutral. This device is popular in retrofit applications to existing homes as well as those locations that take advantage of reduced wiring and installation costs associated with home run shared neutral applications.
AFGF Dual Purpose
This product is available in 1 and 2 pole packaging for those 15A and 20A circuits that require additional 5mA ground fault protection for personnell. This circuit breaker provides thermal and magnetic overcurrent protection, Arc Fault Circuit Interruption, and 5mA ground fault protection for personnell.
