Class 1 Reconditioning The process of maintaining Low Voltage (LV) or Medium Voltage (MV) power circuit breakers or contactors by complete tear down to the smallest component level of the entire device, including component specific cleaning, component level inspection and testing to restore the breaker to operating condition using the Original Breaker Manufacturer's information and replacement parts.
Class 2 Preventive Maintenance Inspection, testing and basic cleaning of a LV Power Circuit Breaker as an assembly or sub-assembly in preparation for the installation of a new trip system.
LV Trip Unit Retrofit The process of replacing the existing trip system on a Low Voltage Power Circuit Breaker.
LV Air Replacement Breaker(AR) A new breaker designed to interface with the existing manufacturer's LV Power Circuit Breaker cell.
Vacuum Starter Replacement(VSR) The process of replacing the existing interruption system in a Power Circuit Breaker (either LV or MV) with a vacuum contactor and current limiting fuses to convert the circuit breaker to a drawout motor starter for repetitive motor starting duty.
Cell Retrofill(CR) Switchgear and/or starter modernization accomplished by removal of internal cell components and bus interfaces. A new technology circuit breaker or starter along with its cell components is inserted into the existing structure. New bus and insulation are installed to connect to the main switchgear or motor starter main bus.
MV Vacuum Replacement Breakers(VR) A completely new vacuum circuit breaker designed to mechanically and electrically interface with the existing manufacturer’s Power Circuit Breaker cell.
MV Breaker/Starter Retrofit The process of mounting a new breaker or motor starter onto an existing Power Circuit Breaker or starter frame. Cutler-Hammer does not offer or recommend MV retrofits.
