Magnefix switchgear is a fully epoxy resin insulated Ring Main Unit switchgear for application in 12-15 kV distribution networks. Due to the compact construction and the fully insulated design it can be installed in very small area’s in transformer stations, high rise buildings and wind turbine connections.
- Extremely compact (91 mm per switch panel)
- Safe and reliable
- Flexible design, high level of modularity
- User friendly
- Environmental friendly (SF6 free)
- Cost effective
The system is fuly epoxy resin insulated, equipped with load-break switches, fused load-break switches and circuit breakers for 14.4 kA and 20 kA networks at an operating voltage of 12 kV or 15 kV.
The nominal current of the switches and circuit-breakers is 400 A or 450 A.
The system complies with the most recent IEC regulations:
IEC 62271-100 for the circuit-breakers
IEC 62271-102 for the earthing switches
IEC 62271-103 for the load break switches
IEC 62271- 201 for insulation enclosed switchgear
Switching
Standard the various switches are manually operated with single phase switch caps.
The operator can remove and replace these switch caps with a separable operating handle.
Also a three phase design is available.
Safe
insulation
All parts are fully surrounded by insulating material in such a way that discharges are avoided and that touching of live parts is impossible.
Recycling
Magnefix switchgear can be completely recycled after it’s service life. No harmful materials are used.
Protection
Fused T-offs are used for the protection of the power transformers in the network. Alternative a circuit-breaker with a self-powered electronic protection relay type WIC1 and an Electromagnetic Mechanism (EM drive) is available.
Short
circuit
indication
For the detection of short circuit currents the Magnefix system can be equipped with magnetic indicators with hand reset or electronic indicators with automatic reset. Also sensors with remote indication via a GSM communication unit are available.
