Eaton’s R5 Series of Rotary Disconnects, available in non-fusible configurations from 16A up to 80A, are tested and approved to the UL508 standard. These devices are further tested, to successfully close in on a short-circuit, allowing them to be properly marked ‘suitable for use as a motor disconnect.’ When protected by applicable upstream fusing, as tested, the short-circuit rating of these products goes up to 65 kAIC.
