Spicer Life Series driveshafts take our industry standard 10 Series™ one better. Innovatively designed for demanding, high torque and high horsepower applications, they’re compatible with today’s electronically controlled engines and lower axle ratios.

And while Spicer Life XL u-joints may be greased, they also offer extended initial lubrication intervals for linehaul applications of up to three years or 350,000 miles, whichever comes first. This all adds up to trouble-free, longlife driveshaft performance – even when hauling heavier loads and multiple trailer configurations.

That’s why the Spicer Life Series of driveshafts was designed to improve performance by reducing weight – and save you money. A Freightliner study from March 1999 showed that using Spicer Life 170 and 250 series driveshafts produced an average weight reduction of 5 lbs. per truck, resulting in $60 savings.
	Fewer shafts and cross members = Up to $622 saved per truck Longer driveshafts for your trucks mean bigger savings for you. Driveline lengths on the Spicer Life 170 and 250 series are available up to 80" long, which is up to 10" longer than the 10 Series™ or competitive driveshafts. By reducing the number of shafts and cross members for some wheel bases, you can save as much as $622 per truck. Data is based on full retail, November 2003 Century Class S/T data book.
	Fewer relubes than Spicer 10 Series = Up to $720 saved per truck If you perform preventative maintenance in-house, the Spicer Life XL u-joint initial lube interval of 3 years/350,000 miles and 6 months/100,000 miles thereafter (on-highway) equates to 40-plus fewer relubes versus the 10 Series. For a typical 3-piece system, the savings per truck are $729. This is based upon a flat charge of $25 to properly lube and purge a 1760/1810 driveline. It does not use the average labor rate of $74 and 0.5 hours to complete.
