This course is designed to give a basic understanding of the operation and overhaul of the Fuller RTLO 13 and 18-speed transmissions. This includes RTLO-XX713,
RTLO-XX913, RTLO-XX718, and RTLO-XX918.

During the classroom portion, technicians will be exposed to the theory of operation and an in-depth review of the shift control system. Additionally, technicians will be instructed on failure analysis techniques specific to this transmission, which are essential in determining the root cause of failures necessary to establish warrantability.

This section will increase the technicians understanding of basic transmission operation, gear life theory, and product lubrication requirements, while also addressing product
specific failure modes. Maintenance and basic troubleshooting techniques will also be discussed.

Upon completion of the classroom presentation, the overhaul portion will continue into a hands-on tear down and reassembly of a Fuller RTLO-XX918 performance transmission using the correct tools and techniques. Each technician will be asked to participate in this practical portion of the course.
