AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH CONTROLLERS

The FT Series Fire Pump Controllers are designed to provide automatic transfer from normal to alternate power when the normal source of power drops below 85%, or is lost in any or all phases of the normal power supply.

FT20 Limited Service
The FT20 Limited Service Transfer Switch Controller can be used for motors 30HP or less, driving booster pumps or special fire service pumps where acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction.
FT30 Across-the-Line
The FT30 Transfer Switch Controller operates across-the-line where full voltage is applied to the motor for starting by the use of a single motor contactor. Starting inrush current is approximately 600% of rated full load amperes.
FT40 Part Winding
The FT40 Transfer Switch Controller is a full service, part winding reduced voltage controller. The FT40 is the most economical method of reduced voltage starting, however, requires a special motor wound for part winding starting.
FT50 Primary Resistor
The FT50 Transfer Switch Controller is selected when it is necessary to meet limitations on inrush current. The main contactor by-passes the resistor after a short acceleration time and applies full voltage to the motor terminals.
FT60 Autotransformer
The FT60 Transfer Switch Controller utilizes an auto-transformer that is inserted in the power supply to the motor to reduce the voltage at the motor terminals and to provide a smooth acceleration.
FT70 Wye Delta (Star-Delta) Open
The FT70 Transfer Switch Controller uses a method of connecting the pump motor windings into wye configuration to start, then switching to a delta configuration to run. This reduces the starting current of the motor significantly.
FT80 Wye Delta (Star-Delta) Closed
The FT80 Transfer Switch Controller uses a method of connecting the pump motor windings into wye configuration to start, then switching to a delta configuration to run. This reduces the starting current of the motor significantly.
FT90 Soft Start
The FT90 LMR Soft Start Transfer Switch Controller incorporates a solid-state starter which provides a step-less, smooth current ramp to the motor. This characteristic eliminates current surges and mechanical torque transients.
FPATS Stand Alone
Eaton’s Automatic Transfer Switches provide automatic transfer of an electrical load to a standby power supply in the event of drop or loss of voltage of any or all phases of the normal power supply.
