Our ground fault monitoring systems are designed to detect fault currents in the AC shore power system that are too low to trip a circuit breaker. It helps reduce the risk of injury or property damage which may result from stray fault currents. It provides information to the maintenance staff on the overall condition of the AC electrical system.

Power Guard The ground fault monitor detects ground fault currents by means of current transformers (CT), which are placed around main or branch circuits. If a ground fault occurs, the CT will detect the amount of fault current and send a signal to the ground fault monitoring device where the amount of fault current is displayed with the faulty circuit identified. The detected fault can either activate an indicator alarm or disconnect the faulted circuit.
