xEffect FRCdM Type A and F residual current circuit breakers​

The FRCdM is a part of the xEffect industrial / commercial series.This Residual Current Circuit Breaker belongs to Eaton's industrial xEffect range and fulfills the highest requirements for the protection of both people and equipment.The FRCdM Type A is for systems with alternating and pulsating direct currents.Type A RCCB's will also operate correctly with the presence of a small value of smooth direct residual current up to 6 mA.

  • Compatible with other xEffect-series devices' standard busbar connection
  • Type -A, -G/A, -S/A: Protects against special forms of residual non-smoothed pulsating DC which have have not been smoothed.
  • Type -S: Selective residual current device sensitive to AC
  • Potential-free auxiliary contact for external prewarning
  • Type -U: for speed-controlled drives with frequency converters
  • Type -G: Highly reliable against unwanted tripping, compulsory for circuits where personal injury or damage to property may occur
  • Twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed)
  • Universal tripping signal (trip/contact indicator white-blue/red-green) switch, for FAZ/FRBmM-1N, auxiliary switch Z-HK can be mounted subsequently
  • Additional safety by seal or lock in ON/OFF position
  • Delayed types suitable for standard fluorescent tubes with/without electronical ballast
  • Tripping is line voltage-independent
  • 4-pole device to be used for 3-pole and for 2-pole connection

Green

The system is in normal operation.

Yellow

The currently measured residual current is higher than 30% I∆n. The system is currently drawing fault current, and actions should be taken accordingly

 

xEffect Residual Current Circuit Breaker FRCdM Type AC, A, U, R - red LED

Red

The currently measured residual current is higher than 50% I∆n. The system is currently drawing a critical amount of fault current, and actions should be taken immediately.

Reliable protection for machines

These products help maintain an optimal system and provide additional protection against residual earth leakage currents for a wide range of applications. They come with different tripping characteristics to cater for variety of electrical systems and components. The devices offer a wide range of nominal currents and comprehensive optional accessories.

Digital RCD with enhanced reliability

Type A: Sensitive to AC and pulsating DC currents. Protection against special forms of residual pulsating DC currents that have not been smoothed.
Type U: Suitable for use with variable speed drives in household, commercial and industrial applications. This tripping characteristic has been specifically designed for use with frequency converters to prevent nuisance tripping.
Type R: Prevents nuisance tripping due to X-ray devices.

Sensitivity Type F

These types are capable of sensing pulsating residual currents and are not negatively affected by a DC overlay of up to 10mA .
These devices (depending on the range) are also available as:
  • G/F short time delayed devices which are surge current proof up to 3kA. These devices enable a reliable and safe installation with increased system availability.
  • S/F selective RCCBs with improved surge current capabilities up to 5kA. These devices are selective (conditions apply) to other RCDs and enable special applications and root installations.
