Enabling the integration of renewables and electric vehicle charging stations

xStorage Buildings enables the Catholic University of Lille in France integrate a renewable energy production source and maximize its consumption on the campus. The xStorage Buildings system also stores the unused energy which is then redistributed during peak periods or when re-charging an electric vehicle. The system is used to power three electric vehicle charging stations. This represents six charging points with 132 kW of consumption at full load. This brings a great modularity and a flexibility with regards to the electrical grid.

Ensuring back-up power supply and peak shaving while using more self-generated solar energy

The Bislett stadium in Norway wanted to invest in an energy storage solution that would enable them to shave peaks in energy consumption and usage, utilize the solar production in a smarter way and ensure there is a back-up power supply for the stadium and the events they host. The xStorage Buildings system installed at the Bislett stadium includes a 100-kW power conversion system and three racks with 30 Eaton battery packs made up of second-life Nissan LEAF battery modules. This is a great example of circular economy.

Build resiliency

The xStorage Buildings system can improve resiliency and maintain power quality. This is an important criteria for commercial and industrial buildings which cannot risk power outages.
