The XC-152 of Eaton's Moeller™ series has been a reliable solution for implementing automation tasks quickly and flexibly. It achieved this by subdividing complex processes into smaller, manageable functional units. The XC-152 is being phased out, with the last time buy date on June 30th, 2025. As alternative product ranges, Eaton offers the new generation of modular PLCs: XC-204. These systems are not direct one-to-one replacements for the XC-152, but they serve as powerful alternatives. These modern systems are designed to handle simple to complex control tasks efficiently. With this new control generation, Eaton provides a universally applicable control system that enables machine and plant manufacturers to implement advanced automation solutions with a wide range of networking options and IoT applications.
Diagnostic and other information from the machine module can be displayed on a central HMI or an industrial PC using the web visualisation function. The web visualization and the PLC function are programmed using CODESYS 2 or 3. Remote visualisation options are available in CODESYS as well as in GALILEO.
The XC152 offers various communication interfaces, including: SmartWire-DT, CAN, RS232, RS485, Profibus and Ethernet. Via the Ethernet interface, data can also be exchanged with OPC clients, thereby facilitating the connection to a central control and visualisation system.

The XC152 supports the proven SmartWire-DT communication system. It eliminates the need for control current wiring to the sensors and actuators and simplifies commissioning through improved diagnostic options. It also significantly reduces the costs for design, commissioning and maintenance.
