ROZTOKY, Czech Republic – Intelligent power management company Eaton has been named a Diversity & Inclusion Champion by Business For Society, the largest platform for responsible business in the Czech Republic. This recognition comes as part of the celebration marking the 10th anniversary of the Charter of Diversity in the Czech Republic. During the gala evening, the certificates were presented by Pavel Štern, Director of Business for Society and Monika Ladmanová from the European Commission.

Eaton was recognized at Business For Society’s ‘European Diversity Day’ for its ongoing commitment to the principles of the Czech Republic’s Charter of Diversity. Eaton signed the charter in 2020, underscoring its focus on offering a fair, welcoming and inclusive environment for every employee. Today the charter boasts more than 130 signatories, including dozens of major corporations. Each is pledged to promote equality in the workplace, regardless of factors like race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability or religion.

Eaton’s commitment to the Czech Charter of Diversity marked the beginning of a successful partnership with Business For Society and its extensive network of responsible companies that together employ more than 200,000 people. Most recently, this included collaborating on the third annual Open Day of the Eaton European Innovation Center (EEIC) on November 7, 2024.

“Our long-term cooperation with Business For Society is supporting our ongoing progress on inclusion and diversity,” says Jaroslav Neuvirth, HR manager, Eaton European Innovation Center. “As we tackle varied R&D challenges, we need a broader range of expertise than ever before. We’re striving to ensure talented people from all backgrounds feel welcome, especially women in engineering. This came to life at our recent Open Day, where we helped diverse students network with industry veterans, prepare for job applications, and discover what life is like at a leading hub for European energy innovation.”

Opened in January 2012, the EEIC has built a global reputation for solving the world’s toughest power management challenges. To develop more efficient, safe, and sustainable solutions, the EEIC now unites over 180 specialists from more than 20 countries with expertise spanning automotive, residential, electro and IT power innovation. “We’re delighted to collaborate with organizations like Eaton that are dedicated to doing business right,” says Pavel Štern, director, Business For Society. “Whether it’s ensuring an inclusive environment for employees or enabling more eco-friendly operations, we’re proud to be working with our network of responsible businesses to help them adhere to sustainable principles and adopt best practices for corporate social responsibility. On the tenth anniversary of the Czech Republic’s Charter of Diversity, we’re proud to see our network going from strength to strength.”

In 2023, Business For Society also named Eaton a top 25 responsible company in the main category for its dedication to sustainability, employee development, environmental stewardship and community engagement. The independent 63-member jury consisted of representatives from the business, academia and professional organizations. Backed by many high-profile patrons—including Czech President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala — the TOP Responsible Company Awards are the only independent rating of sustainable businesses in the Czech Republic.
