SPPVT2/T12 xPole Surge Protection
The plug-in surge arresters SPPVT2 and SPPVT12 have been developed especially for photovoltaic applications. They protect the installations against transient overvoltages that can be induced by direct or indirect lightning strikes.
Increased safety through compliance with the EN 50539-11 standard
Safe contacting of inserts due to integrated redary bolts
Visual status indicator
Available with auxilary contact
Coded connectors and base element
Solar PV installations requires surge protection
Homes with rooftop solar PV installations represent an additional vulnerability that requires surge protection. Usually this requires type 1/2 combinations, for DC protection - based on whether the building has also a requirement for an external lightning protection system. The surge arrester SPPVT12 protects the installations against transient overvoltages that can be induced by direct lightning strikes. These surge arresters are suitable for a wide range of surge protection in a large number of systems.
Designed to protect the inverter
In the case of a newly installed photovoltaic system, surge protection on the DC side must be taken into account. Type 2 PV surge protection is required, when there is no risk for direct lightning strikes and only indirect surges can occur.
The surge arresters type 2 protects the inverter and installations against transient overvoltage due to switching and indirect lightning strikes.
Plug-in SPD for photovoltaic applications
The SPPVT12 is a plug-in SPD for a photovoltaic application within insulated and earthed systems. The arresters have an optical defectindicator on the front of the device and can be equipped with an auxiliary switch (auxiliary contact) for remote signalling.
