Personal data is also information collected through your interaction with and use of the Information Channels and non-Eaton websites, which does not reveal your specific identity or does not directly relate to an individual, but could, when combined with other data, link back to you. Personal data may include online or offline interactions, and includes, but is not limited to:
Behavioural data about your usage of the Information Channels, such as webpages clicked, websites and content areas visited, date and time of activities. The web search you used to locate and navigate to the Information Channels. In some instances, we may combine data, such as deriving geographical location from your IP address combined with behavioural data about your usage of the Information Channels, with your name. As a general rule, we do not collect any information that reveals your racial and ethnic origin, political or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic or biometric information, or information about your health/sex life or sexual orientation, unless authorised by law or where necessary to comply with applicable laws.

How we use and share information: Eaton uses and shares the personal data it collects (unless otherwise restricted by applicable law), to:
Engage in transactions or contact you regarding orders. Eaton may use personal data to engage in transactions with you and notify you of order status.
Process transactions. Eaton may use personal data along with financial, credit card and payment information, to process your transactions.
Provide support or other services. Eaton may use your personal data to provide you support or other services you have ordered, as well as product updates, product patches and fixes and other similar operational communications. Tailor marketing to your needs. Eaton may use your personal data to notify you about new product releases and service developments, and to promote Eaton’s products and services in accordance with this Notice. Your website visit, marketing experience and communications may be tailored to your interests based on your personal data. Eaton may pass your contact information to the appropriate distributor or reseller for further follow-up related to your interests. In addition, Eaton may share personal data with third parties to facilitate interest-based advertising. Uses specified above are not mandatory and may be controlled by you.
Respond to your requests. Eaton may also use personal data in order to respond directly to your information requests (including newsletter registrations or other specific requests) or other enquiries.
Select content, improve quality and facilitate use of the Information Channels. Eaton may use your personal data to help create and personalise content on our Information Channels, facilitate your use of the Information Channels (for example, to facilitate navigation and the login process, avoid duplicate data entry, enhance security and preserve order information between sessions), improve quality, track marketing campaign responsiveness (including online advertising and e-mail marketing) and evaluate page response rates.
Improve products, services and experiences. Eaton may use your personal data to evaluate and improve our products, services, marketing and customer relationships.
Obtain services of group companies, partners and third party service providers. We also share personal data with third parties who provide services to Eaton, such as analytics, event / campaign management, website management, advertising, data enrichment agencies, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, auditing and other similar services. When Eaton shares personal data with third party service providers, we require that they use your personal data only for the purpose of providing services to us and subject to terms consistent with this Notice. Our vendor management and contract processes require full adherence to data protection and privacy regulations and this Notice.
Protect our employees, sites, facilities and operations. Eaton may disclose your personal data as we believe to be necessary or appropriate to protect the health and safety of our employees and visitors, our physical and online operations, our property, rights and privacy, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others. If you visit our offices, you may be asked to provide your personal data or be photographed or videotaped as part of maintaining the security of our facilities. Your data will be treated as sensitively and will only be used for security and investigation purposes.
Comply with legal requirements and corporate transactions. Eaton may disclose personal data as we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence, for national security and/or law enforcement purposes; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; and (e) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain. Additionally, in the event of a reorganisation, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings), we may transfer the personal data we have collected to the relevant third party, provided that we inform the third party it must use your personal data only for the purposes disclosed in this Notice.
Some of the personal data uses specified above are not mandatory and may be controlled by you as explained to you at the time we collect your personal data.
We may also use your personal data for other purposes that are not incompatible with the above purposes (such as archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes, or statistical purposes) if and where this is permitted by the applicable data protection and privacy laws.
