Mil-Aero, defense and space connectors, backshells and contacts

micro38999 8DA, 8LTA and 8BA series

Our micro38999 series of miniature circular connectors are derived from MIL-DTL-38999 design and available in three coupling systems: threaded, break-away and bayonet.

micro38999 connectors are 50% shorter in length, 33% smaller in diameter and three times lighter, making them ideally suited for applications with space and weight constraints, such as defense applications (display, UAV, helmet, tactical radio) and industrial applications (remote control, drilling, medical, instrumentation, etc.).

micro38999 is the first complete platform on the market of integrated backshell products available with a 38999 design and complies with the harshest specifications, including high vibration, operating temperature, durability, corrosion resistance and EMI shielding.

Core features

  • Thread, bayonet or break-away quick coupling
  • Visual mating indication
  • EMI shielding
  • Self-locking mechanism (8DA series)
Specifications

Extreme mechanical performance

Cable termination with pressure gland endshell provides extreme resistance to pull-out or transverse forces and vibrations and shocks.

Technical Data

Salt spray: 10 x (24h + 24h) alternate salt spray according to EN60068-2-11. 500h continuous salt spray according to NFC93422. Operating temperature range: -20°C to + 70°C Mated pressure withstand: 30 bar Unmated pressure withstand: 5 bar

Three coupling systems are available to choose the best compromise for your application:

  • Threaded coupling (8DA range): high vibration withstanding and strong signal protection.
  • Break away (8BA range): quickest mating/unmating cycle for applications where reactivity is key.
  • Bayonet (8LTA range): tightest space requirements with reliable mating.
