Class 1 Reconditioning
Eaton’s Class 1 Reconditioning process helps enhance coordination, improve system reliability, and increase the life of medium and low-voltage power circuit breakers. The reconditioning and rebuild process includes:
- Inspection, documentation, disassembly per our procedure*, careful cleaning, reassembly, testing to manufacturer and IEEE standards, and ongoing tracking in POW-R-Master database (*where disassembly is not practical, replace component with new or reconditioned)
- Optional installation of Digitrip RMS trip unit retrofit kit that restores breaker to full capacity with longer life and state-of-the-art new trip unit
- Mechanical and electrical operations performed per original manufacturer’s information, IEEE standards, and Class 1 specification
- Reconditioning at one of five established regional Power Breaker Reconditioning Centers, each of which strictly adheres to nationally recognized standards and quality processes.
