PITTSBURGH – Intelligent power management company Eaton today announced its new Green Motion DC fast chargers for commercial electric vehicles (EVs). The chargers are part of Eaton’s expansive electrical hardware, software and engineering service solutions supporting fleet electrification with flexible, scalable and reliable infrastructure.
Designed for private fleets, Eaton’s Green Motion DC chargers enable fast charge times for high-powered light- and medium-duty EVs. Eaton offers mission critical service support for fleet electrification to help customers achieve charger availability of 98% or more. Additionally, the highly compact chargers can simultaneously charge two connected vehicles, reducing installation cost per port and maximizing space.
“Electrifying fleets requires a comprehensive approach that maximizes the value of charging infrastructure today and into the future,” said Nelly Maximous, vice president of sales, energy transition at Eaton. “With the addition of the DC fast charger and mission critical support services to our EV charging infrastructure solution portfolio, we’re providing customers with the entire package needed to make sustainable, resilient and flexible fleet electrification a reality.”
The 50-150 kilowatt (kW) chargers are designed for interoperability with a variety of charge management platforms and Eaton’s Charging Network Manager software, which provides infrastructure monitoring and management and helps safely maximize the charging capabilities of electrical systems. Passively cooled 300 Amp (A) charging cables on higher power models deliver more peak power to vehicles with greater reliability and less complexity, cost and maintenance.
At the Eaton Experience Center in Pittsburgh, a full-scale demonstration and testing facility, visitors can gain a hands-on view of the highly compact DC chargers. Learn more about Eaton’s comprehensive EV charging infrastructure solutions and services for fleet applications.
