Overcurrent protection workshop

Description: Get hands-on experience learning how to apply overcurrent protection schemes in the Eaton Power Systems three-day Distribution Overcurrent Protection Workshop. Any engineer who is involved with design or operation of overcurrent protection schemes for utilities or industry will benefit. The workshop will be more beneficial to you if you have a working knowledge of overcurrent protection devices. Electrical and arc flash safety

Description: This course will help you become familiar with the practical implications of OSHA 29CFR1910.269 and Article 130 of NFPA 70E, including: hazards associated with electrical work, electrical shock severity and effects, lockout/tagout and the general requirements of an energy control program, general requirements for protective grounding equipment, determining the appropriate size for portable grounding conductors, procedure for using temporary grounding conductors, testing for the presence of voltage, energized electrical work permit, job briefing, distinguishing live parts from other parts, procedure for safe use of voltage detectors, and many other topics. Basic electrical testing and switchgear

Description: Instructor-led training for obtaining Eaton Electrical Engineering Services and Systems Division's GFSC Level 2 Live Work Competency Sign-off and Certification. Topics include: insulation-resistance tests, dielectric tests, low-resistance tests, current-injection tests, PowerDB forms, introduction to automatic transfer products, Magnum DS racking, hoisting and phase displacement at tie, establishing Magnum DS into an electrically-safe work condition, VCP-W interlocks and control, CloSure measurement, test and inspect CPTs, VTs, and CTs, commissioning Ampgard Triton SL, inspection of Ampgard SJA, and inspection of MSB Load-Interrupter Switch. Industrial power systems analysis

Description: Upon completion of the Industrial Power Systems Analysis I training program you will be able to recognize the several forms of power-system single-line diagrams, calculate short-circuit current and evaluate the application of power circuit breakers and power fuses. Using classroom exercises and demonstrations, this training program reviews the fundamental techniques of power systems analysis. Although this training program is not intended to teach the use of power-systems analysis software, the instructors will use lap-top computers in the classroom and review examples created with SKM Power Tools for Windows to help explain the construction of system single-line diagrams and the calculation of short-circuit current. Power Xpert, PowerNet and Foreseer basics

Description: This course will focus on connectivity, providing the attendee with the necessary hands-on skill and tools to configure the Power Xpert software through its component pieces of PowerNet and Foreseer software. It is designed for engineers and technicians that design, install, and operate power management systems with Power Xpert communications capabilities. It provides a basic understanding of the architecture and configuration of Power Xpert software and hardware components. Power quality monitoring

Description: Upon completion of the Power Quality Monitoring training program you will be able to measure sags, swells, voltage transients, harmonic distortion, and voltage flicker using Cutler-Hammer IQ and Power Xpert metering devices, Dranetz recorders, and Fluke portable analyzers. Variable frequency drive commissioner and re-certification training

Description: This training program is designed for those involved in the installation, programming, and commissioning of Eaton’s H-Max, SVX, SPX, CPX and CFX variable frequency drive products. CompEx ExF foundation - IEC

Description: This unit is part of training and certification of core competence of personnel who work on equipment for use in explosive atmospheres. The training is designed to provide companies a method to raise hazardous area awareness for their employees, with an internationally recognized competency certificate. CompEx NEC 500 Ex01 – Ex04

Description: CompEx NEC 500 is a North American recognized training qualification and essential for electrical and electronic engineers, supervisors, and technicians who need to develop and demonstrate their competency in the selection, installation, inspection and maintenance of “Ex” NEC 500 apparatus in potentially explosive atmospheres. Once trained CompEx NEC500 personnel are able to perform their tasks in the critically deemed hazardous area, where the equipment reduces the risk of an explosion happening. CompEx Mechanical Ex11

Description: This course determines the core competency of mechanical practitioners. The course consists of a review of CompEx foundation model (ExF), a mechanical hazardous area awareness course with both written and practical exams. CompEx Application Design Ex12

Description: The course consists of classroom based theoretical training, individual exercises , group exercises, and written assignments. Exercises contain scenarios where equipment selection, markings and environmental protection is relevant. The course also includes the intrinsically safe system concept and associated calculations required to ensure correct and safe installation is achieved. Power quality monitoring

Description: The Power Quality Monitoring program enables you to identify power quality problems or perform measurements of sags, swells, voltage transients, harmonic distortion, and voltage flicker. More than 50% of the time in this training program is dedicated to hands-on practice using a variety of popular models of portable and panel-mount power monitors. Students are also encouraged to bring their own analyzers to learn new uses for them in our state-of-the-art training laboratory.
