A university committed to energy transition

Committed to driving the energy, economic and social transition, the Catholic University of Lille in France launched the Live Tree programme in 2013 with the aim to become a zero-carbon campus by 2035. Eaton supports the university with the installation of Eaton xStorage Buildings energy storage systems. Watch the video below to discover how.

Enabling the integration of renewable energy production on campus

xStorage Buildings enables the integration of renewable energy sources and maximises the consumption of that power on campus. With a capacity of 250 kWh, it enables the storage of energy from 1,300 m2 of photovoltaic panels on the university's historic buildings to optimise the self-consumption of renewable energy, thereby reducing its carbon footprint.

Using stored solar energy to charge electric vehicles

The xStorage Buildings system stores the unused energy, which is then redistributed during peak periods or when re-charging an electric vehicle. The system is used to power three electric vehicle charging stations. It provides six charging points with 132 kW of consumption at full load, which offers a high degree of modularity and flexibility vis-à-vis the electrical grid.

The other strong points that made Eaton stand out were the quality of its customer support and the ability to adapt the entire control system to our actual needs and goals.
