Get control of your distributed IT assets

Unplanned downtime is costly for all organizations. It typically results in a financial loss and can negatively impact reputation.

Our Disaster Avoidance software, also known as Intelligent Power Manager (IPM), helps small and medium businesses—typically with fewer than 25* uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) and/or power distribution units (PDUs)—monitor, manage and control power equipment in physical or virtual environments, enabling you to keep IT devices running during a power or environmental events.

*Our Distributed IT Performance Management software, part of the Brightlayer Data Centers suite, can monitor and manage power equipment in distributed IT environments with more than 25 UPSs and/or UPSs.

“With a single pane of glass, we can monitor power outputs, which we couldn’t do before. That battery backup is the key to our data center decisions related to equipment purchases. It’s helped us to determine how many power supplies to need and which servers are better for power consumption.”

How IPM protects remote sites
  • Minimizes latency – in many cases latency is intolerable
  • Reduces bandwidth – sending big data from remote sites to on premise data centers consumes enormous bandwidth and cost
  • Improves reliability – retries, drops and missed connections avoided
  • Maintains compliance – personal data remains local
How IPM shuts down VxRail
  • UPS detects power or environmental event
  • IPM Automation begins
  • Users set IPM to shutdown user VMs in individually or grouped in order set by user
  • IPM shuts itself down, transfers remaining commands to UPS NIC
  • UPS NIC finishes shutdown of system and management VMS
