Virtual simulation

Technology is providing exciting ways for Eaton to offer training that increases knowledge through interactive, virtual simulation and scenario-based learning. Eaton's virtual simulated real-world environments engage the learner to use multiple sensory modalities including visual and auditory.

Learn and check knowledge in a 100% safe environment

Knowledge checks, in the form of a simulated experience, provide immediate feedback in a safe environment. For example, use the simulation to see if the learner can safely rack a breaker. If the learner does not use the correct safety procedure or PPE, immediate feedback will be provided.

Benefits of virtual simulation

Selecting PPE

Virtually select PPE the correct PPE for the job. Learners select PPE from the available choices. This provides the visual learner with an enhanced mode of reinforcement: the simulation lets you choose and will give you feedback and automated grading based on the situation you are in and what you have chosen.

Using lock-out, tag-out

Virtual scenarios provide the learner with choices of where to lock out electrical equipment as though they were physically in the area where lock-out is desired. By providing a virtual image of the choices, a learner can see different options and get feedback immediately if they choose the wrong location.

Equipment operation

Seeing and operating equipment in a simulated environment teaches and enforces safe operation procedures in a safe environment. Managers and trainers can watch the learner demonstrate their knowledge of equipment operation and receive immediate feedback.
