Delivering data to functions across the utility

Eaton’s DRMS solution provides utility personnel with data for key management functions throughout the business. Programme administrators can access data on programme enrolment and asset management, while customer service representatives can access individual customer profiles and history. In addition, control room operators can schedule control and manage automated control.

Managing load events using smart thermostats

By managing and controlling smart thermostats, utilities can offer residential and commercial customers both energy savings and comfort, while maintaining the ability to activate load management events for capacity management, energy price mitigation and system events. Off-the-shelf integration with third-party thermostat vendors makes implementation easy.
Eaton’s Demand Response Management Software (DRMS) supports a broad range of communication options, protocols and control methodologies. When combined with multiple event management options ranging from dynamic triggers for automated response to operator managed events to integration to third-party systems, this robust platform can enable and support any Demand Response (DR) programme.

Demand Response solution features

ADVANCED LOAD MANAGEMENT PROGRAMMING AND CONTROL
 Activation and monitoring of events targeting DR resources with a variety of strategies including discrete sheds, standard cycling, time control and adaptive TrueCycle. DRMS can also perform automatic load shedding by monitoring and responding to changes in the system load.
OPERATOR FORECASTING
 Calculate the expected load reduction and event impact through live weather data coupled with offline analysis of equipment performance data
ASSET AVAILABILITY
 Review a summary of the status of the devices in the control area or load programme
ASSET MANAGEMENT/CUSTOMER SERVICE PORTAL
 Individual device and consumer profiles related to hardware installation, programme enrolment, event participation history and device metrics
PROGRAMME ADMINISTRATION PORTAL
 Administrator management of programme availability, consumer programme enrolment and opt-out reporting
ENTERPRISE INTEGRATION MODULE (EIM)
 Provide real-time integration with other utility IT infrastructure such as SCADA, energy markets and customer billing
