xEnergy Basic EMC2

The EMC2 series, which is part of the xEnergy Basic family, combines the modularity of Eaton’s established EP assembly system with novel, user-friendly features. With a view to meeting a broad range of power distribution needs, the EMC2 enclosures are equipped with large flange openings at the top and bottom that match our comprehensive portfolio of F3A flanges.

The enclosure depth of 270 mm has been carefully chosen to match both the available flange openings and the EP assembly system to further simplify the wiring work. All xEnergy Basic EMC2 models are rated IP55 overall, and IP2XC with open doors and closed protection covers for enhanced personnel protection. Rugged by design, the EMC2 series comes with a mechanical impact rating of IK10. This high degree of protection also makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications, including industrial power distribution.

xEnergy Basic EMC[2]

EMC2 stands for ‘EP Modular Class 2’ and thus recalls the formula at the heart of Einstein’s most famous theory. While we’re not redefining the relationship between energy and mass, the new enclosures offer plenty of room for your power distribution needs, thanks to generous flange openings and reduced external dimensions, without compromising on the space available inside.

New, streamlined enclosure design

The new design makes it possible to decrease the external footprint of the enclosure, effectively reducing the height and width by 50 mm without compromising the available space inside. The external doors are suspended on symmetrical hinges, meaning they can be opened from the right or left and swing a full 180 degrees.

The xEnergy Basic EMC2 series is  enclosure platform for power distribution with Class II protection. It combines the modularity of the established Eaton EP assembly system with novel, user-friendly features. making it even more flexible and functional.

Modular EP installation system

While the new series is fully compatible with our existing EP system components, it boasts a new interior frame design, allowing individual fields or entire sections to be pre-assembled outside the distribution board.

Wall-mounted and floor-standing enclosures for electrical distribution

All versions can be used as wall-mounted or floor-standing enclosures. For added safety and security, a three-point locking mechanism is standard across the entire product range, from the smallest wall-mounted enclosure to the largest floor-standing version.
