xPole Combined RCD/MCB Device PKN4, 1+N-pole

This residual current operated circuit breaker with integrated overcurrent protection in 1+N-pole is a high-quality residual current circuit breaker and miniature circuit breaker combination. The line voltage independent PKN4 device is part of the xPole series and can be used for residential buildings as well as for commercial applications.

This combined RCD/MCB device is not only available as AC and pulse current sensitive "standard type" A, but also with a time delay of at least 10 ms (type G). While the AC and A are only impulse current resistant up to 250 A, the type G offers an increased impulse current resistance of more than 3 kA. This makes it the ideal choice when nuisance tripping needs to be avoided. The device is compatible with standard busbars, a twin-purpose terminal (lift/open-mouthed) is available for quick and easy mounting at the top and as well as at the bottom. In addition, a 3-position DIN rail clip and a secure terminal connection serve as an installation guide.

Suitable RCD/MCB types for all contingencies

  • Type -A: Protects against special forms of residual pulsating DC which have not been smoothed.
  • Type -G: 10 ms time delay in order to avoid unwanted tripping (e.g. during thunderstorms).
  • Type AC: This type only detects pure sinusoidal AC residual currents.

IEC Standard quality design

This applies to both the line voltage-independent and line voltage-dependent RCDs/MCBs with rated currents up to 125 A for fixed installations. All requirements of IEC/EN 61009 are 100 % fulfilled by Eaton's RCBO line. All required standards are printed on the devices.
