Zapper

Eaton's Zapper® system with electric chip detectors is found in a helicopter’s gearbox, transmission and the engine’s lube oil. Our chip detectors are designed to capture and indicate ferrous particles to alert operators of wear or potential impending failures of rotating components.  The system technology reduces or eliminates nuisance alarms by eliminating or ‘zapping’ normal wear debris from the sensors.  Eaton’s Zapper system technology is critical in helicopter health monitoring systems worldwide, with millions of hours in service.
