Eaton's Automatic Source Transfer (AST) solutions, also known as Automatic Transfer System (ATS) solutions, protect critical loads that cannot tolerate a sustained loss of voltage event. Through rapid communication and flexible, user-selectable restoration options, the solution helps utilities dramatically minimize service disruptions and quickly re-energizes critical customers. The AST solution is available for three-phase and triple-single devices.
HIGH-SPEED, PEER-TO-PEER PROTOCOL |
Enables transfer to an alternate source in as little as six cycles ensuring minimal service disruption PeerComm protocol enables the two reclosers to maintain constant communication |
FLEXIBLE, USER-SELECTABLE RESTORATION OPTIONS |
Helps utilties quickly return systems back to the normal states after the return of the primary voltage source Local restoration enables each control to be manually operated Automatic restoration / Manual initiation enables restoration to the preferred source to be manually initiated from either control Automatic restoration / Automatic initiation enables retoration to occur once the preferred feeder voltage returns |
MINIMIZED VOLTAGE SENSING REQUIREMENTS |
Only source-side voltage sensing is required for each recloser Eliminates redundant measurements and unnecessary data |
FAST TRANSFER TIMES |
Allows source transfer to occur before backup power is required, including generators |
