Ingress Protection (IP) ratings define how effective a product is at preventing foreign objects from intruding during use. The first “6” in IP66 and IP67 refers to external protection from solid particles and signifies that a product is completely dust-tight. The second “6” in IP66 refers to protection from liquids from high-pressure spray downs for 3 minutes. The “7” in IP67 refers to protection from liquids in temporary submersion in water. Arrow Hart’s watertight plugs and connectors meet IP67 ratings when fully mated, and our receptacles meet IP66 ratings when the flip lid is completely closed and when a plug is fully mated. NEMA environmental ratings refer to an enclosure’s ability to prevent liquid and solid particles from entering a device while in use. Eaton’s Arrow Hart watertight devices meet NEMA ratings for Type 3R, 4, 4X, 6, 6P and 12 meaning that they’re completely Rainproof, Watertight, protect from windblown dust and have Corrosion Resistant features.
