xDetect is a 1 to 4 loop addressable fire alarm control panel featuring an instantly familiar, tablet-like user interface. Its adaptive touchscreen automatically changes colour in line with the fire system’s status. The panel protects data and assets from hackers, ensuring secure communications, and has been designed with industry-leading levels of cybersecurity, making it future-ready for BMS and IoT connectivity. Its end-to-end design concept minimises time on-site, simplifying selection, installation, commissioning and service thanks to features such as error-proof colour coding and modular architecture. Installation and maintenance times and costs are reduced further by xDetect’s ring design. This makes the use of a redundant network unnecessary, significantly reducing cabling and associated costs. xDetect is easy to expand and adapt in line with the changing needs of building owners, thanks to it's modular system architecture. It can be upgraded effortlessly in line with changing standards and regulations through an intuitive, colour-coded scalable loop configuration with easy-to-swap system cards.

xDetect is an addressable fire alarm control panel featuring an instantly familiar, tablet-like interface. Users can monitor, at a glance, a building's peripherals and zones so that faults can be addressed swiftly and fires minimised. The panel is designed with industry-leading levels of cybersecurity and is future-ready for BMS and IoT connectivity.

Modular cards for bespoke safety systems

Every fire alarm system is different and project scope can rapidly change, forcing installers to over-engineer or make drastic late alterations. Eaton understands these challenges – its new, modular, card-based xDetect panel gives you the agility to react.

xDetect's basic unit comes small (7 card slots) or large (12 card slots), with coded slots for easy expansion and two EN54-2 approved cards (Gateway and Loop) pre-fitted. From minimal stock, you can configure cost-effective, bespoke solutions ready to grow alongside customer needs; simply swap the cards as requirements change. Moreover, it's loop card design minimises downtime by enabling fast swapping of any failed card, without impacting other functionality. The result? Less expense and more peace of mind.

We understand that there isn't a 'one-size-fits-all' solution to building safety, so, although we recommend loop networking for optimal cost efficiency, we've designed xDetect to work in radial systems where needed. Better yet, we've made it simple to then upgrade to loop networks once the building is ready - just close the loop!

Cost-efficient, fault-tolerant loop networking

Lose redundant cable and cut up to half of your costs

Utilising a streamlined RS-485-network, xDetect doesn't lose communication when a single fault occurs. Importantly, when networking several xDetect control panels together, there is no requirement for redundant lines to maintain the critical signal path. Meaning that, when combined with the 600mA maximum current per loop with xDetect, cabling costs are nearly halved compared to our legacy options.

Greater resilience & rapid on-site troubleshooting

Faults can happen at any time when sites go live – particularly when demanding schedules are constantly evolving. Critically, any loop card failure is confined to one loop circuit only with xDetect – all others remaining fully operational. This is by design and allows for segmented protection against faults and loss of coverage. Downtime is minimised completely as each card provides clear status indication. It means technicians can identify issues quickly and rectify them with minimal effort, with each frame allowing for swapping of the affected card without disturbing other system functionality.

Complex installations made simple with xDetectWorks

xDetectWorks is a powerful PC programming software, created to make system design and configuration simple with xDetect. Free to trained fire alarm engineers, the software is activated with a license key generated by the Eaton Fire Technical Support team once training has been completed.

Command and control large xDetect systems with EFGVS

EFGVS is Eaton's Fire Graphical Visualisation Software. It is a state of the art and powerful supervision management tool for Eaton Fire addressable systems, allowing xDetect fire system events to be viewed and managed on a PC by an authorised operator.
