iseek utilises Eaton’s flagship 9395P for world-class data centre

Date: February 2022
Segment: Data Centre
Location: Brisbane, Queensland
iseek is one of Australia’s leading providers of data centres, cloud and connectivity to the enterprise and government sectors. Their Enterprise Class Data Centres are designed with a strong focus on continuous maintainability across security, power and cooling.

"Eaton as a world class provider was an obvious choice."

Jason Gomersall, iseek Founder & CEO

Continuous uptime

Iseek’s new data hall within their existing Brisbane data centre campus is designed to Tier IV as per the Uptime Institute Certification.

‘’To that end our UPS or uninterruptible power supply is absolutely essential in achieving objectives. Eaton as a world class provider was an obvious choice,’’ says iseek Founder & CEO, Jason Gomersall.

General Manager, Eaton Power Quality in Australia and New Zealand, John Atherton says that Eaton provided the critical power infrastructure for LDR2 along with the complementary engineering project management and maintenance services. The system comes with Eaton's ongoing service capabilities, guaranteeing spare part availability, maintenance, and technical support throughout the site's lifetime.

“Eaton at heart, locally in Australia, is about engineering, that’s at our core and we believe that making this engineering capability accessible to our customers is a key part of our competitive advantage,” says Atherton.

Utilising Eaton’s latest UPS lithium battery technology over the previously used lead acid technology, has meant not only a much smaller battery footprint for iseek but also a longer useful battery life. Eaton 9395P provides iseek’s LDR2 with an efficient UPS platform based on modern power conversation technology, with up to 97% efficiency, and a product platform that guarantees secured power into data centres and other critical sites for over 12 years.

“The 9395P is really the cornerstone of the data centre industry globally. There are so many people out there running this platform and why? It's official, it's reliable, its trusted, its tested,” says Atherton.

Working together

Eaton delivered beyond the solution, leaving an impression on Jason Gomersall.

“The whole process was very pleasing from the fact they work very well with our primary contractor and even with the challenge of COVID that we all had to deal with, they were able to deliver on time and on budget,” says Gomersall.

It’s a sentiment shared by John Atherton.

“Having the Eaton brand associated with a successful organisation like iseek is really a proud moment for us,’ says Atherton.
