Low Voltage Circuit Breaker

Eaton’s low voltage circuit breakers provide exceptional protection for overheating wires, overloads and short circuits in industrial, commercial, residential and hazardous environments. As a premier leader in power distribution equipment, you can turn to Eaton with complete confidence when you need a low voltage circuit breaker for your next project.

What is a low voltage circuit breaker?

A low voltage circuit breaker is suitable for circuits at 1000V or lower. When the current through it exceeds a predetermined value, the circuit breaker will automatically trip to prevent dangerous electrical faults. Discover the different low voltage circuit breaker types offered by Eaton.

A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) can automatically turn off an electrical circuit during disruptions to the network, or if the capacity is overloaded. For the most part, MCBs have replaced fuses in a low voltage network as it is more sensitive to overloading, and the restoration process is quicker.

A moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB) is an electrical protection device that is often used when the capabilities of a miniature circuit breaker is exceeded. Plug-in circuit breakers and miniature circuit breakers often do not have adjustable trip settings, whereas a moulded case circuit breaker can be modified to provide extra protection against electrical faults.

A residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) is the safest device to detect and trip when electrical disruption occurs. RCCBs can be used with a miniature circuit breaker to protect from potential thermal and dynamic overloading of currents, and they can also act as a main disconnecting switch for MCBs.
