Network I/O for IT environments

Eaton Industrial Gateway Card

The Eaton Industrial Gateway Card (INDGW-M2) with UL and IEC cybersecurity standards combines the features of an SNMP agent, secure HTTP/web server, a Modbus RTU/TCP and a BACnet IP functionality to facilitate remote monitoring of your UPS system through industrial application like management, data center management, IT Management and Building Management System. Enjoy the freedom to customize and schedule actions, like shutdown protocols and load shedding, and receive immediate notifications during power events, without having to be onsite.

The Industrial Gateway card works with next generation Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) v2.3 (and higher) to improve business continuity by triggering policies configured to keep mission critical applications running in the event of power or environmental anomalies

When used with the Environmental Monitoring Probe, temperature and humidity readings of rack enclosures environmental data can be monitored and can be used to take informed decisions.

Steps to consider when selecting a network card for your backup uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

Whether it is for your home lab or a hyperscale data center, a UPS is critical to any kind of IT infrastructure. Given that a UPS provides you with power conditioning and emergency backup power, it makes sense to provide it with access to network communications for alerts of any issues and to enable machine-to-machine (M2M) connections to automate the graceful shutdown in the event of a power loss. Most network interface cards (NIC) provide basic monitoring capabilities and alerts but there a number of factors to consider when it comes to selecting the right network card.
