Reclosers

6H, V6H three-phase reclosers

Eaton's Cooper Power series 6H and V6H three-phase, hydraulically controlled reclosers provide reliable, self-contained distribution-circuit overcurrent protection. Additionally, they’re offered at low cost and require minimal service.

Hydraulic control
Reduce installation and operation costs
3 self-contained interrupting mechanisms
More compact than comparable designs
Multiple operation sequences
Simplify system coordination

Core features

  • Offers vacuum or oil interruption; adapts three, single-phase interrupting structures with a common lockout mechanism
  • Senses line current in each phase and trips individually; can also lockout all phases if one phase sequences to lockout
  • Initiates tripping with its series-connected coil
  • Offers selection of dual time-current characteristics which permits coordination with other protective devices
  • Provides a non-reclosing feature set with a hotstick-operated lever for one operation-to-lockout without removing the recloser from service

Timing selectivity offers flexibility in application and equipment coordination

Eaton's Cooper Power series 6H and V6H three-phase reclosers are self-contained, hydraulically controlled devices. They sense and interrupt fault currents on a three-phase or per-phase basis. All timing is governed by the hydraulic mechanism which controls the timing before contact opening, establishes the time delay before the contacts reclose, counts the number of operations and causes the recloser to lock out when the preset number of trip operations has been completed.

Timing characteristic and sequence variations

Eaton's Cooper Power series 6H and V6H reclosers provide for multiple operating sequences. They can all be fast, delayed or a combination of fast followed by delayed operations. When a recloser is programmed for both fast and delayed operations, the fast operations – involving no intentional time delay – occur first in the sequence according to the recloser’s A curve time-current characteristic.
