Eaton Showcases Solutions for Improved Electrical Grid Reliability and Efficiency at 2017 DistribuTECH Conference in Booth #3616, from January 31 through February 2

PITTSBURGH, PA — Power management company Eaton is delivering a portfolio of products and services engineered to help utility customers build a safer, more reliable and intelligent grid. Eaton’s solutions will be on display Jan. 31 through Feb. 2 at the 2017 DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition in San Diego. Visitors to Eaton booth #3616 can interact with products and consult with Eaton application experts on the latest strategies for improving reliability, driving operational efficiency, reducing cost and protecting people and the environment.

At Eaton booth #3616, experts from Eaton’s engineering services, smart grid and product development teams will be available to discuss:

• A new software tool designed to help utilities of all sizes efficiently and accurately integrate distributed energy resources without adversely impacting reliability and power quality
• Smart grid projects designed to help reduce electricity demand and costs, while strengthening the distribution system to improve power quality and reliability
• Microgrid control systems and turnkey engineering services designed to help ensure electrical energy availability independent of the utility grid
• Substation automation upgrades to enhance power reliability and real-time response to events
• Low voltage secondary network solutions supporting improved operating awareness and analytics
• Cost-effective legacy remote terminal unit (RTU) upgrades designed to prepare legacy substations for Internet of Things (IoT) and smart grid applications
• Eaton’s energy management circuit breaker (EMCB), currently under field testing, which combines circuit breaker technology with Internet connectivity and on-board intelligence to provide better energy use information for residential energy management and for utility optimization of grid reliability

Additionally, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) will host two educational sessions at the event to showcase its recently announced collaborative demonstration fielded by EPRI with utility providers across the United States to test Eaton’s EMCB.

On Tuesday, January 31 at 3:00 p.m., EPRI Senior Technical Executive Tom Reddoch will highlight the collaborative EMCB field demonstration project in booth #1736. 

On Wednesday, February 1 at 3:00 p.m., Reddoch and Eaton Director of Business Development, Innovation, and Emerging Technologies Ron Thompson will provide another overview of the national EMCB field demonstration in meeting room #4047.
