Law No. 6698 on Turkish Protection of Personal Data (“Law”) was enacted on 24 March 2016 and came into force when published on 7 April 2016. The Law is enacted to protect fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, particularly the confidentiality of privacy in relation to processing of personal data and to lay down the procedures and principles that will be followed by natural and legal persons that process personal data. Furthermore, data subject has a right to request compensation for the damage arising from the unlawful processing of his/her personal data and to request to notify third parties whom the data is transferred to in relation to the activities (deletion, destruction and correction) of Eaton.
