The SC9000 EP arc-resistant variable frequency drive (VFD) is designed to safely contain, cool and redirect exhaust gases in the event of an arc flash incident. Built in an arc-resistant Type 2B enclosure for the strength needed to resist the forces of arc blasts up to 50 kA, the fully integrated arc-resistant drive provides enhanced safety from the front, sides and rear of the enclosure, even with the control doors open.

Enclosure technologies provide strength and direct fault byproducts to the proper exhaust locations in the event of an arc flash
Arc exhaust cooling technology significantly reduces temperature of exhaust gas and patented short circuit protection limits available arc fault energy
Unique arc fault detection circuits significantly reduce the possibility of an arc fault upon powering up the drive coupled with patented inverter encapsulation to prevent propagation of a fault
