Prevent soil dry-out within your duct banks and backfields cable installations
IEC standards only consider the effect of soil dry-out when cables are directly buried. However, it doesn't provide a methodology that accounts for soil dry-out when cables are installed in ducts or the presence of other layers around the installation, such as a backfill or a duct bank.
Our module solves this challenge by allowing users to calculate the ampacity of cable installation in duct banks or backfills while preventing the soil around the installation from drying out. Using a finite element model, the soil dry-out analysis module computes the temperatures on a selected number of points in the soil. It ensures that every point at the selected layer boundary remains below a user-defined temperature. It helps prevent drying out the soil, ensuring your cable installation remains safe and efficient.
