With graphical trend analysis, the keypad offers a smartphone-like experience for setup and troubleshooting.

With an onboard PLC and oscilloscope, the PowerXL DX1 provides users with the customization and confidence needed for complex applications. The SD card slot makes it easy to capture data logging from the oscilloscope, while simplifying firmware updates.

Thanks to multiple onboard protocols and available option cards, the PowerXL DX1 is easy to integrate with all major industrial communication protocols, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet and Modbus TCP. Providing exceptional flexibility for different industrial demands, the VFD’s four accessible option card slots can be tailored to specific applications, with augmentations such as different encoder cards or I/O expansion. Further customization can be achieved using the onboard PLC feature.

An optional module is available to meet the heightened safety demands of specific environments such as crane and hoist operations, which includes safe brake control, safe acceleration range and safe speed. Conformal coatings, metal conduit plates and 100kAIC short circuit ratings further enhance product safety.

Out-of-the-box, the PowerXL DX1 also helps save on energy costs with Eaton’s patented Active Energy Control algorithm.

Winders and unwinders

The precise speed and torque control of the PowerXL DX1 ensures uniform tension across the diameter of the coil, critical for downstream operations and to avoid impacts to product quality and telescopic winding of paper and metals, resulting in scrap. 

Cranes and hoists 

The robust design of the PowerXL DX1 helps ensure machine and personnel safety on cranes and hoist applications, where the motor and VFD must hold heavy materials in the air until the motor brake engages. 

Multi-motor

Offering master-follower speed or torque control through fiber optic option modules, the PowerXL DX1 can accommodate applications where different roll diameters and gear ratios run at synchronized line speeds and any mismatch can impact product quality and lead to stoppages.
